Shanghai & People's Park

Last weekend was a fascinating trip! I mean, i was practically at the same city all over and over again! As normal la. But i did managed to do something different and go to do something different. A different place to walk, went to try out some other food and just explore the city on both my feet. Of course, might be boring with my experiences comparing to some snowdiving or parachuting. But anyway, its just my goddamn feeling i am refering here. :)

The thing i need the most now is a freaking decent camera, namely VIEWTY so that i can capture and snap without carrying so many gadgets in my already-limited-pockets-pants. Pack of 20's Dunhill light, a mobile phone, a mp3 player, a wallet, keys, coins, passport bla bla bla fitting into limited 2 front pockets is not helping either. Sometimes times can get so frustrated especially my palm in the pocket searching for some small change. Argh! *boiling point!*

Anyway, back to the point. I went for some curry rice at Raffles City mall nearby to People's Square. I decided to have a walk and see see look look. See whether got nice food or any nice rice or not. But, all stalls, cafes and restaurants are full of people, crowded practically and at last i saw this small little small store by the corner at the lower ground. China's Kaari house....

Kaari family restaurant! Serves curry i assume. Omigosh! They have mama curry, papa curry! But i don't think they look like know how to make delicious curry though! They serve white curry rice without chilli powder, how funny is that! But with my tongue telling me to taste some spicy food, i have no other choice but to eat and try out! Its bad comparing to all the Ipoh nice food, especially Ipoh Dry Curry Mee! Check out the wonderful simply superb freaking delicious food at here. Miss those home food! Simply delicious and tasty! Tried once and remember for life!

No choice la! Alone. Just simply eat and swallow la. It not like i am going to North Indian cuisine alone and eat some naan and curry fish head. Alone summore. Niama! the freaking white curry rice cost me RMB 24 plus it look funny and white! The freakin glass of ice coffee in that freaking small glass costs me RMB 12 bucks leh! I can make better nescafe at home! Sure won't last long 1 this freaking shop! Took less than 15 minutes to get it done and walk out la. Hahaha.

Subsequently, i went across the street to People's Square trying to look for a tattoo shop and checkout the price. I believe at least i should go and compare the prices 1st la. I am a smart consumer what! Hahaha. Walk walk walk and here i go. I have great fantastic sense of direction but it was my 1st time walking in to the malls under the park. I was like, oh! ok.... Maybe just bang here and there la, sure can find 1.

OMG! These kinda mall is what i am talking about la. Small booths and stalls selling variety of stuffs. Shoes, sneakers from leather goods, Converse, Adidas and other brands, boutiques selling jackets, overalls, t-shirts, shirts, funky shirts, funky t-shirts, jeans, rugged jeans, branded jeans, ladies attires, ladies dresses, ladies lingerie, ladies cosmetics, ladies makeup accesories, belts bla bla bla fitted into this mall. Damn awesome!

Well, i managed to check out and walk walk in the mall and maybe at least know what they sell in there. So many things la. Sure all the ladies will die suffocating in there while emptying their purse and handbags. Oppps! Empty their purse exchanging for that pair of glittering jeans with that matching pair of wedge heels or that green color pair of sandal. Not spendthrift! Spending smart i assume!

With the greens and leaves starts to grow again, flowers blooming and birds chirping again, spring is now definitely feels better. Its soothing and fascinating. These are the areas at People's Park, colorful, vibrant, joyful and just dynamic in colors. *sorry for the color from my camera phone though!* I am getting my new camera phone la! Just wait ok! Hahahahaha!

*sorry for the picture quality though!* taken from a old-beloved-sony-ericsson!

And of course, how can i miss out the sunset scene of spring evening in the city, in the heart of the metro Shanghai of People's Park. Tall buildings, big buildings, lightings, peoples, trees and parks in the middle of the city makes this place worth visiting for the sake of pictures and of course, shopping downstairs! :)

Do you know that in China, they practices pissing and shitting by going to public toilet that are decently cleaner than our KFC back in KL. Seriously! Of course, we have to pay some coins to get in and piss, but its worth it rather than going to those shops or by roadside if too desperate! *this only applies in big cities as small suburb towns is absolutely disgusting even a rat can die inside!*

By night time falls, and its time to walk back to hotel, and of course the journey between the park and my residence of the night, room 611, i goes this street name Yunnan Nan Lu by Jinling Dong Lu. This street sells a lot of food ranging from seafood, roasted dishes, islamic dishes, sichuan dishes, shanghai dishes and bla bla bla. Do you know that Chinese actually loves to eat those satay-looked-alike-food that includes marinated fruit dipped in honey, bbq squid, bbq baby octopus, bbq mutton with curry powder and etc etc? Its a cultural favourite amongst the Chinese, every town and every where!

*note that the sticks are piling up so high that they will recycle it and don't get paranoid! its just common practices for them in China!* They sell seafood by the roadside. I mean really by the roadside and literally you can walk unnotice and knocked over that piece of containers filled with crabs, prawns and fishes! Normally, under normal circumstances, if you are that hungry and wanted to try out some seafood, why not come to this street? Just pick and select the fish that you want.

Just imagine the scenario (you walking pass by the shop, the boss looks at you):

Seller : Lai Lai kan kan! *Come come see see*

You : Ei! Lao ban, na ge duo shao qian? *while pointing to that fish at that container*

Seller : Na ge 100 kuai la. Hen hao chi de! Lai lai qu zhuo! *that fish 100bucks, very delicious! Come come sit* (while he pointing to the door entrance asking you to have a sit at that cramped table!)

You : Bu yao la! Bu hao chi! 50 kuai ba! 50 kuai wo yao la! *negotiating price here*

Seller : Ok! Lai lai qu zhuo! *screaming!* "Fu yuen! zhao ge wei, liang ge ren zhuo de!* (Waitress, find seats for these 2 person!) (screaming tone!)

You : -_-

Hahahahaha! Ain't it hilarous eating out in China?
