Pudong Weekend

Last weekend at Shanghai is simply astonishing. Seeing my friends condominium and the fantastic view from his place makes me drool. Anyway, we went for a drink at the riverside bar, where we meet with his friends for a drink at 5pm.

We walk approximately 15 minutes and reaching there, just opposite Shangri La Pudong next to the HuangPu River, we found de Paulaners. Simply one of the best beer around, Paulaners; smooth and nice.

We then proceed to sit externally to enjoy the simply marvelous view of the view, facing The Bund and the HuangPu River, with the breeze and soft wind blowing at our face. Chilly and cold to be exact even with booze heating our body. Check out the view from the Paulaners, from the place i've sit to take this picture. Cool isn't it? *See the boat this picture below on the right side? Its actually an Advertisement Boat*

We have our nice fish and chips served with nice tartar sauce and with 2 glasses of Paulaner, simply unbelievably perfect, not forgotten, with our ciggies. Fantastic! We sat for almost 2 hours join by his few colleagues there after. *Since night fall is by 5.30pm, its pretty damned cold there after, around 10 degree celcius* Normally, they will start a gas heater to lights up at the walkway where people sits to hit up the area. I noticed that in Xintiandi the other day as well. Pretty good enough for a decent heat, so that you will not freeze at your face!

We left at almost 6.30pm, since they need to head to their boss house for some dinner cum gathering. Hence, leaving me alone this lonely cold night. I decided to have a walk by the river and taking photos cum enjoying the night view of HuangPu River. Check out the night scenes...

There are aplenty of cafes bythe strip along the river. And to my surprised, i manage to see a restaurant ON the river name Riverside Cafe and it is actually on the river itself. No joke! *Maybe i should give it a try and experience eating on the river* Hahaha!
There are Starbucks, Haagen Dazs, McDonald's and some chinese cafes as well along the strip. Benches and sits are plentiful here and you can notice tourists and visitors taking pictures and sitting there just enjoying their time there. Perfect!

Later then after walking by the river, i went to the nearby shopping complex for a small dinner with bread and orange juice. Done some window shopping as well. Super big and super nice.

I went into Zara to check out some winter jackets and i simply loves their design of their suits and jackets. Sadly, it costs around RMB1800 for a trench winter overcoat. Expensive for me now, especially since i have just bought a Jack Jones winter trench coat for RMB800. Hahaha! Perhaps next time...

Proceed to H & M for some seeing as well. Managed to see several boutiques as well inside the mall. Budgeted myself for for items and things that i need to buy next time. Hehe...*A man gotta have his Dreams right?*

Leave the mall at 9.30pm to meet my friends for few rounds of mahjong for the night. Superb...

Hence, back to ZJG on Sunday evening by night fall for the Monday working preparation. Hopes that i can continue to have these weekends as often as possible.

Until then, Ta!
