Suzhou Day 1

OMG! Finally i saw some home cook cuisine "delicious" slurp slurp at Suzhou near BuXinJie. There also is a north indian cuisine. We flip through the menu and found nasi briyani, roti murtabak, curry, pappadam and more! OMFG! Why can they open some branches in ZJG? Fuck...drooling now, slurp slurp...

Plus, my darlind now, if not mistaken, is cooking curry while i'm typing the blog, making me even more hungrier. I have not taste any curry, especially nice curry, in more than 1 month, feels like dying of hunger here although i can adapt to it :) Still somehow, deep inside my heart, my brain and inside my stomach, these "organs" kept on yelling to their master, which is me, i want some home cook food, nasi lemak, kopi ice, char keoy teow". Cheh! You think i don't want meh? KNN...

Anyway, back to the main subject here, we went to Suzhou on Friday brunch time after we woke up and get everything ready especially with Romeo around having his Soy Milk and his nice little nap around 9-10am every morning. We got a ticket and get on with the ride around 2 hours to Suzhou. Got plentiful of experiences seeing how the bus ride system here works. Supposingly the journey takes only 1 hours plus plus, but we took 2. Know why? Coz the damn driver, want to make extra $ for his own pocket by getting more people on the bus to Suzhou along the small highway. Around 10-15 person board the bus paying him around RMB20/each and mind you, they sit in the aisle, coz the original sitting seats is fully occupied, but still, the aisle in the middle of the bus is full of person until to the door. Eye opening!

We reach to the Northern bus station in Suzhou and proceed to lineup for a cab to the HomeInn Hotel and to my shocki again, in Suzhou apparently there is 10 HomeInn Hotel! Wah lau eh! So, ask the driver to get us to the nearest 1 near the walkstreet; BuXinJie. Went in and check in. Come out in the evening around 4.30pm and apparently there is not enough time for us to go to any of the 4 parks in Suzhou, which is, Suzhou is famous for. So we decided to walk in the walkstreet and check out the happenings.

What the heck! The fucking street is so damn long and it is simply unbelievable with all the people and all the pedestrians walking up and down. Thousands of people in 1 street, 4 KFCs in 1 street, more than 3 Nikes, Adidas boutiques in 1 single street. OMFG! And to our astonishment, we found the "eating" street just behind the main BuXinJie and plentiful of restaurants and cafes. We walk walk walk and found a lot of international brand in this area as well. Me and my darling was dumbfounded. We found Haagen Dasz, Armani Exchange, Omega boutiques, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Loewe and etc famous branded goods available at this vicinity. We also found few bars and pubs that offers international beers such as Budweiser, Hoegaarden, Fosters and etc. What we never expect is this place, Suzhou, really have these brands to cater for expats, and we found out that actually there are a lot of visitors to Suzhou. Tourists from Korea, US, Japanese, Malaysians, Singaporeans, Europeans and etc. We did saw a lot of foreigners here.

We then ate our dinner at this so-called BBQ Grilled Charcoal place buffet style at RMB50/each and we took our time enjoying the foods and meats. Hehe! Then we walk around the fake good areas, which is also around the tourist spot nearby around a temple. Buy some silk scarfs and silk pyjamas for mom, some chinese purse and mirrors and the trick is to bargain all the way. But of course, you must guess the bottom prices for these items before you bargain, for example, we got 3 pieces of semi silk scarfs originally priced at RMB20 each, which we know we can bargain the price. We then choose and just name a price for 3 of the scarfs to the boss and we know they will make $ as well. Just that make sure we bargain to an appropriate level of price that we think it is for that particular item. We then go for a drink around the area, at an open air new row of shop nearby for a coffee ice and Heineken for my Darling. Sat there just enjoying the wind of Autumn night, holding our ciggies as usual and enjoying the drinks and moment to the max! Such a pleasure...

We did notice there is a couple of discos and R & Bs clubs around. Ktv is abundance here. I heard mentioning before that Suzhou even has a bar street solely comprises of bars and cafes and pubs, although i haven't been for the due lack of time, 2 days 1 night. I'll be dropping by again to visit the night life here next time when there is opportunity around, $...

We went back at home around 11pm when Romeo makes noises... :) Goes back to the fav HomeInn and rest for the night...

To be continued...
